Ski area Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel - Kaprun

With the lift pass "Ski Alpin Card" you can ski in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Fieberbrunn as well as in the ski resorts of Zell am See/Kaprun on an amazing 408 km of pistes. All under the motto "1 ticket, 3 regions, endless mountains".

In Zell am See and Kaprun you have access to 138 kilometres of pistes and over 49 modern lifts in the two ski areas of Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe, as well as the glacier ski area on the Kitzsteinhorn, which extends to over 3,029 m above sea level.

With its 61 km, the Kitzsteinhorn offers mostly intermediate pistes for beginners and pleasure skiers. Wide carving slopes and long, sporty runs, such as the 5 km long slope from the top station of the Gletscherjet 4, make skiers' hearts beat faster. Experts looking for the ultimate adrenaline kick, on the other hand, are just right on the Black Mamba with a gradient of up to 63 percent. From Kaprun you can reach the glacier with the Gletscherjet and the Panoramabahn or directly from the town centre with the MK Maiskogelbahn and the K-onnection built in 2019.

From Zell am See you can quickly get to the Schmittenhöhe ski area (2,000 m) with the CityXpress, the TrassXpress or the Schmittenhöhenbahn, which offers slopes of all levels of difficulty. Experts try their hand at the 4 km long Trass run, which is considered the most difficult in the entire ski area and one of the steepest runs in the whole of Salzburger Land.

The Maiskogel ski area, on the other hand, is particularly suitable for families, with a large number of wide and blue pistes. The Maiskogelköpfel lift is also the longest ski run in the region, at about 7 km.

Each of the three ski areas has its own fun park with tables, slides and jumps. Freeriders will also find plenty of opportunities. A total of 5 freeride routes and a comprehensive information system with infobases and info points are available. At the Schmittenhöhe, for example, you can let off steam on the open ski area under the Sonnkogelbahn lift.

As a special service, the ski areas around Zell am See and Kaprun offer free Wi-Fi at various hotspots throughout the ski area. You can easily access the Wi-Fi network and surf the Internet, download the latest snow reports or post pictures!

From December 2019 the Schmittenhöhe will be connected to the ski circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. The brand new zellamseeXpress now departs from Viehhofen in Glemmtal. Six cabins have a jukebox to which you can connect your music. There is also a ski bus between Viehhofen and Vorderglemm.

Night skiing Fusch am Großglockner

There is a large selection of night skiing areas in Austria. Near Fusch am Großglockner, the Zell am See-Kaprun ski area also has a slope where you can still ski at night. The approximately 1.5 km long "Nightslope" at the Ebenbergbahn in Zell am See is lit up for night skiing on Thursdays. On these days, the Ebenbergbahn lift operation ends at 15:00 during the day and then resumes from 18:30 to 20:30 for night skiing. Skiing at night offers a special view of the lights on the houses in the village. If you have a lift pass valid for several days, you can take part in night skiing for free. Otherwise, it is possible to buy a lift pass for night skiing on site.

Après ski Fusch am Großglockner

After skiing, numerous après-ski options throughout the ski area invite you to celebrate. A cosy start to après-ski is offered by the tranquil huts in the Schmittenhöhe ski area. And there is also a guaranteed good atmosphere in front of the Alpine Centre on the Kitzsteinhorn in the "Parasol" umbrella bar! Later on, there is still the possibility to end the day in the restaurants and inns or in one of the bars in the village.

Or would you prefer something out in the fresh air? Then one of the numerous hiking trails in the beautiful surroundings of Fusch is the perfect choice. For example, you can walk along the nearby Salzach river or to the Zeller See lake. In neighbouring Bruck there is also a 3 km long toboggan run. And for those who just want to relax after a long day of skiing, a visit to the TAUERN SPA in Kaprun is highly recommended.

Snowpark: Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn Fusch am Großglockner

In the three ski areas you have access to a major freestyle area. First place to go is the Kitzsteinhorn, where the local Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn offers adrenaline junkies and freestyle lovers five diverse areas to try out.

In the "Easy Park" kids and newbies can start their freestyle career with practise moves. There is rainbow box, a wave box, a down rail and 3 kickers. In the "Central Park" and "South Central Park" pros and experts can show off their skills. 9 metres long barrier, various rails and kickers (5 - 13 m), as well as a knuckle leave no wishes unfulfilled. Right at the top, at 2,900 metres altitude, there is the "Glacier Park", which is however only open during spring and autumn. Besides the snow parks there is also a Eagle line with obstacles for beginners, as well as a real highlight: the 150 metre long and 6.50 metre high super-pipe - the largest in Austria.

More action is to be found in the fun park "Schmitten" on the Schmittenhöhe. This park offers obstacles such as rails, boxes, and kickers and is mainly geared to beginners and pros. The "Schmitten XXL" promises loads of entertainment: a 1,300 metre long fun slope with wave ride, jumps, tunnels, etc.

A further park is ideal for families with kids: the "Schmidolins Drachenpark" offers kids a wave run and some small ramps and therefore provide the best conditions for trying out first moves in the freestyle sport.

Another highlight is the kids slope on the Glocknerwiese.
