It is ideal as a quiet place to retreat, however ideally located in the within the first-class area of the Grand Massif. The village is situated at the southern end of the valley, which is home to the river Giffre, a side arm of the Arve. From Morillon 1100 you have direct access to the pistes located just above the resort. Here can enjoy perfect doorstep skiing conditions. The original cluster of farm houses at 700 m altitude however has maintained it's original charm of a traditional, French mountain village. The typically wooden-clad houses are grouped around the church Saint-Christophe, which originates from the 16th century. The number of pistes around Morillon comprises 30 km in total, of which a number of runs lead along picturesque descents through fir tree forests. This village is also home to Antoine Dénériaz, who won the Olympic races in 2006.

Grand Massif

The ski region Grand Massif, located in midst of the Upper Savoyards, characterises itself by sheer endless diversity. Surrounded by a wonderful mountain landscape, dominated by the Mont-Blanc mountain range in the south, history meets modern age in a very unique way. Be it quiet and traditional, over centuries developed villages or just a basic station - the region offers incomparable contrast. Beginners just as experts will find what they are looking for here. The selection of easy and intermediate pistes is huge and very impressive. But also away from the slopes the region has much to offer. The wonderful mountain landscape can therefore also be explored on numerous cross-country trails or panoramic hiking trails, whilst quaint huts and restaurants invite you in to try their specialities.
