Ski area Fichtelberg - Oberwiesenthal

The "InterSkiregion Fichtelberg/Klínovec" ski pass includes the ski area around the Fichtelberg (1,215 m) with around 16 kilometres of pistes as well as around 31 km of pistes on the neighbouring Czech Keilberg. You can reach the Fichtelberg from Oberwiesenthal either with Germany's oldest cable car (built in 1924) or with a modern 4-seater chairlift.

The Fichtelberg ski area is particularly popular with families due to the mostly easy to moderately difficult slopes. The approx. 2.5 km long family run is particularly recommended, as is the 1.8 km long toboggan run. There is also a children's practice area for the little ones as well as a magic carpet and a ski kindergarten.

The 1.2 km long FIS course under the cable car is designed for experts - together with the "Am Wäldchen" piste, it is one of the only challenging FIS courses in eastern Germany. Freestylers get their money's worth in the fun park at the foot of the Kleiner Fichtelberg. A modern snowmaking system with more than 120 snow cannons ensures guaranteed snow in the ski area.

The Klínovec ski area, just 5 km away, offers a wide range of pistes over a total of approx. 31 km around the 1,244 m high Keilberg, the highest mountain in the Ore Mountains. Most of the slopes here are categorised as moderately difficult. The six forest runs on the north-east side of the mountain are particularly popular.

Night skiing Schwarzenberg

In Oberwiesenthal on the German-Czech border, skiers have the opportunity to use the pistes in the Fichtelberg/Klínovec ski region at night. The nearby ski resorts offer night skiing on both the Czech and German sides. So if you still feel like skiing after a day off the piste or if you want to extend your day on skis, the Klínovec ski area on the Czech side offers night skiing. Oberwiesenthal's local ski area also invites its guests to enjoy extended skiing fun. The large number of small night skiing areas makes the region close to the border particularly attractive for skiers.

Après ski Schwarzenberg

Oberwiesenthal offers various options for both après-ski enthusiasts and those seeking peace and quiet. If you want to round off a day's skiing with a nightcap, then "Sabine's Schirmbar" right by the ski lift next to the open-air theatre or the "Pistenblick", which is located right next to the ski slope, is just the place for you. Of course, there are also restaurants and pubs in the village where you can enjoy more than just the typical local potato specialities.

However, if you are looking for some peace and quiet after a strenuous day of skiing, you can treat yourself to a pampering session in one of the numerous wellness facilities or end the evening with a romantic walk through the snow-covered Erzgebirge forest or a ride on the historic stagecoach.

There is more action on the toboggan run in the ski area. Or why not try your hand at snowkiting? You can learn this trendy sport at a specialised school in Oberwiesenthal. A total of 20 kilometres of winter hiking trails will delight nature lovers in particular.

Snowpark: EASTSIDE Snowpark Schwarzenberg

The "Fichtelberg-Klínovec" ski region offers two snow parks - one on the German side and one on the Czech side. The EASTSIDE Snowpark Oberwiesenthal has plenty of space to let off steam and hone your skills with various jumps, kickers, rails and tubes as well as a wallride. One line is dedicated to kickers only. There is also a DIY wood line with pole jam, coping and down slider.
