Ski holidays Corvara – The cradle of skiing tourism!

Corvara

Corvara is located in the heart of the South Tyrolean Dolomites, embedded in the uninque mountain landscapes of the Alta Badia. On a height of 1,568 m, the resort offers a perfect view over well-known mountain ranges such as the Sella Mountains, the Fanes group and the Nature Park Puez Geisler. The cosy little town awaits you with the pure cordiality of 1,350 inhabitants and a first class recreational and active holiday. Corvara is one of the first winter sports resorts and was a pioneer when it comes to skiing tourism: already in the second half of the 18th century, winter tourism started blooming when mountain workers made guided tours for hikers. The first ski school opened in 1938 and commercial skiing tourism stated when the toboggan lift Col Alto was built. In 1947, a chairlift replaced the old lift - the very first in all of Italy!

Corvara is located perfectly if you want to make day trips to the towns in the surrounding area. Bruneck, Brixen or the South Tyrolean capital Bolzano are quickly reached by car Countless mountain peaks, such as the Langkogel in Val Gardena, Seiseralm and Castelrotto, the Rosengarten-Latemar in Val di Fassa, as well as Tofane, Cristallo and the Tre Cime in Cortina are also reached easily. Lovers of nature and mountains will feel their hearts beat faster with the prospect of visiting these places.

Alta Badia

Altogether 6 little Ladin villages in between the mountain ranges of Sella and Fanes form the Alta Badia ski region. With a total of 130 m professionally prepared pistes and the unique backdrop of the Dolomites, the area in one of the best ski areas in Italy. Offering gentle slopes and mainly easy pistes, it is especially suitable for families and beginners. Extensive ski "motorways"- especially broad and easy slopes - but also various freeride areas and a snowpark offer perfect conditions for all needs and guarantee a unique winter sports experience. Apart from the well-known Sella Ronda, the giant slalom worldcup piste "Gran Risa" must be another highlight.

You love snow, but are not a fan of alpine skiing? No need to worry - approximately 34 km of cross-country trails and various winter and snowshoe hiking paths offer enough alternatives. The region is also known for its delicacies with which you spoiled on and off the slopes, as well as for the fact that high-quality hotels with three Michelin star restaurants found their place here. If you're looking for a good mix of perfect piste conditions, breathtaking landscapes, great gastronomy and a spark of luxury, Alta Badia will be the perfect place for you.
