Rasun
Rasun (German: "Rasen") is a small town at 1,030 m altitude, is made up of the three districts Niederrasen, Oberrasen and Neunhäuser, and is the entry to the beautiful Antholz Valley in South Tyrol. The area is part of to the "Dolomiti Nordic Ski", the largest cross-country ski region in Europe. Approx. 1,300 kilometres of cross-country tracks stand for never-ending ski and outdoor enjoyment.Right at your doorstep and easily reached with the ski bus is the ski area Plan de Corones. Broad, well maintained, snow-sure piste provide a winter paradise for ski and snowboarders. Children can enjoy the Niederrasen-Oberstall toboggan run and a firing range when not enjoying the snow. The breathtaking scenery can be enjoyed with ski and snowshoe tours. The romantic winter landscape and untouched snow are worthwhile for all travellers.
Plan de Corones
At the foot of the Plan de Corones (2,275 m), in the centre of the picturesque Val Pusteria, are 14 diverse and attractive South Tyrolean villages. Modern gondolas start from various stations and speed up to the peak, from which imposing 360-degree views unfold. Diverse sporting events take place here on a regular basis, e.g. the Val Pusteria ski marathons including the Valle di Casies run, the biggest sporting event in South Tyrol. 120 kilometres of piste, approx. 32 modern lifts, a half-pipe, as well as ample recreational and sporting opportunities and lively après ski ensure a good deal off piste!
