Ski area Idre Fjäll
Many accommodations ins Idre Fjäll are located directly at the foot of the pistes. The terrain has something to offer for everyone: many blue runs for beginners and children. The little ones can additionally enjoy themselves in the 4 children's areas, dotted over the entire ski area. On the Askestigen piste you can descend through a lovely forest. This is especially delightful for children as there a some fairytale figures to discover here.
More challenging pistes have names such as "Toker" (the crazy) or "Ravinen" (the gorge), or even "Chocken" (shock). The latter is the steepest in the whole of Dalarna - with a 45 degree inclination angle. With 2.8 km the "Dalarnas längsta" is the longest piste in the area. Freestylers will also find a fun park available to practice their tricks and jumps.
Night skiing Idre Fjäll
In the ski area Idre Fjäll, night skiing is an important part of the programme. A small night ski area can be found at the edge of Idre, and local families as well as guests from Sweden and all over Europe can enjoy night skiing here. Night skiing is possible in the lower area of the "Västbacken" piste which is operated by three tow lifts: Västlift 1 and 2 as well as "Västtransporten". The lifts extend their operation times every Monday and Friday until 19:00. The illuminated, beginner-friendly piste is marked green and it is approx. 1 km long. Numerous mountain huts alongside the piste and down in the valley invite you to stay for a break. With several days lift passes, night skiing is included. The landscape around Idre Fjäll is too beautiful to miss out on exploring it. Lace your snowshoes and go on a hiking tour to one of the traditional Sami huts. When participating in one of the organised tours you can additionally enjoy a traditional meal and listen to the tales of the indigene people. Go on an snowmobile tour, or try yourself at dog sledging - or maybe even dare a try on the snow cat. Test yourself at lasso throwing and possibly catch a reindeer. All these activities are organised for you locally.
Of course the little ones are also catered to! There is a special entertainment programme for them with apres ski games, mini disco, story hours and handicraft afternoon.
If you rather want to spend your time with classical sports offers, you have the chance to do that as well. There is a sports centre in Idre Fjäll where you can find and indoor pool with sauna area, a bowling alley, a climbing wall, football, basketball, badminton and tennis courts. Last, but not least Idre Fjäll can also offer great music events: if you venture over to Älvdalen you can visit the museum of the guitar builder Hagström. Elvis Presley and Frank Zappa for instance, loved to play these guitars.
Snowpark: Snowpark Idre Fjäll
The Idre Fjäll snow park is located at the Aske lift, surrounded by thick forests. On four different lines - from green to black, so from easy to difficult - freestylers can test their skills and burn off energy. Various jumps, rails, boxes and other jib elements make this possible.
The park has been awarded the title "Dreampark" and therefore complies to all the regulations of the Swedish ski association and the SLAO (Swedish lift operators association). The park reshaped on a daily basis.
