The Engadine lake landscape has something on offer for enthusiastic cross-country skiers. The stretch over the Silser, Silvaplaner and Champferer Lake measures a proud 12 km. The total ski region has a network of cross-country trails of approx. 230 km and provides a winter sport paradise that meets every cross-country fans' requirements. The longest trail, which covers 61 km offers a real challenge. The trail runs from Maloja to Zuoz and then Schanf to Zernez. The best views can surely be found on the high-altitude trails. Especially the "Alp Bondo" is to be recommended, stretching from 2,096 to 2,107 m altitude and covering a length of 8 km. Also the trails at Mania and Silvaplana are recommendable. Those who are reluctant to leave the pistes even after dark, can enjoy themselves on one of the three flood-lit pistes, for instance on the 2 km long nights trail at St. Moritz.
In order to make use of the trail network, you will need a Swiss cross-country pass. This costs approx. 10 CHF per day and approx. 30 CHF per week.
