Ski area Printse

Winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to spending their winter holidays in the idyllic Thyon, as the resort is located directly at the Thyon 2000 ski area, at an altitude of 1,400 - 2,700 metres. With the Printse lift pass, winter sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to explore the ski areas of Nendaz, Siviez and Veysonnaz, in addition to the Thyon 2000 ski area. The areas are only 10 to 40 km away from Thyon and are therefore easy to reach. In addition to breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and Dent Blanche, the ski area has a lot to offer and can ensure that every winter holidaymaker will get their money's worth.

The Printse ski area has a total of 44 lifts and 220 kilometres of pistes at altitudes between 1,400 and 2,700 metres. The wide range of blue pistes (43 km) guarantees skiing fun for beginners, as well as for skiers and snowboarders who want to optimise their carving technique. Families with children are also in perfect hands in the ski area, as the little ones can learn their first turns in ski schools and discover their love of winter sports in the children's park in Veysonnaz, which has a magic carpet and a children's slope. A total of 159 km of red slopes in the ski area offer a considerable amount of choice for more experienced winter sports enthusiasts. For the bold, there is 18 kilometres of black pistes to be conquered. For advanced skiers, the legendary World Cup slope Piste de l'Ours offers a sporting challenge.

Freestylers have the opportunity to perfect their skills on obstacles and kickers in the snowparks "Centralpark" in Thyon and "Woodpark" in Nendaz. The funpark "Centralpark" in Thyon was named the best snowpark in Western Switzerland in 2011. Seemingly endless deep-snow slopes will also make the hearts of freeriders and powder-lovers beat faster. Winter sports enthusiasts who would like to try their hand at skicross can get their money's worth on the "Audi Quattro" track on the "Fontanet piste".

If that's not enough for you, you'll certainly find what you're looking for in the "Les 4 Vallées" ski area, which includes numerous ski resorts in four valleys. Les 4 Vallées is the largest contiguous ski area in Switzerland and guarantees varied snow fun on a total of 412 kilometres of pistes.

Night skiing Thyon

Skiers and snowboarders who don't want to miss out on the slopes at night are in good hands in the Printse ski area. In the ski area Veysonnaz, a special kind of night skiing takes place regularly. As the lifts are no longer going in the evenings, winter sports fans simply stay on the mountain and wait for darkness. The night-time slope is not illuminated by flood lighting, as is usually the practice, but instead by torches that each snow-lover receives before the run down. Illuminated by the light of the flames, the slope is then skied down under the starry sky. An unforgettable experience. There is also a regular evening programme on the slopes in the Nendaz ski area. Under a full moon, you can enjoy a late meal in the restaurant "Tracouet" at an altitude of 2,200 m, or set off down slopes illuminated by floodlighting. In addition, myths and legends of the region are told. The moon ensures a suitable ambience.

Après ski Thyon

After an exciting day in the Printse ski area, those who still want to sing and dance to the latest après ski music will definitely get their money's worth in the ski area. Numerous bars and restaurants are located in the valleys, as well as on the slopes of the ski area. The party tepee "Le Tipi" is located in the Veysonnaz ski area at an altitude of 2,000 m, and its live music creates a great atmosphere. In the valley of Veysonnaz, 75 special beers are waiting to be tasted in the "Bar le Barloucâ". Party lovers should also consider visiting the "Malabar" or the "Cactus Saloon" in the valley of Nendaz.

In addition to après ski, there are many other ways to enjoy a varied winter holiday in the Thyon region. Winter hiking trails run through the fantastic surrounding nature at the foot of the encompassing mountains. White expanses and fresh mountain air guarantee pure relaxation. Afterwards hikers can stop for a bite to eat and enjoy Valais delicacies. In the nearby villages of Nendaz and Veysonnaz there are also numerous opportunities to be active away from the pistes. Activities include ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh rides, tobogganing on a 3 km long track and night skiing, where winter sports enthusiasts illuminate the piste with a torch.

Snowpark: Centralpark & Woodpark Thyon

A winter holiday in idyllic Thyon is also worthwhile for freestylers, as there are several snow parks in the Printse ski area that promise plenty of fun and adrenaline. The "Centralpark" in the Thyon ski resort is suitable for beginners, advanced and professionals. The park was voted the best fun park in western Switzerland in 2011 and offers numerous obstacles for grinding and sliding as well as kicker lines in various sizes. There is also a waterslide that allows you to glide over a large water basin in the most colourful costumes. Another fun park is located on the La Jean-Pierre piste in the Nendaz ski area. Freestylers should visit the "Woodpark" at least once because, as the name suggests, there are several wooden obstacles here. Unusual, but no less fun. However, the offer in the "Woodpark" is not limited to obstacles. Numerous kickers in different sizes guarantee big jumps for the aerial acrobats among the freestylers.
