Ski area Plan de Corones

Only about 20 minutes away from the idyllic municipality of Monguelfo-Tesido lies the Plan de Corones ski area, which can be reached by winter holidaymakers from Monguelfo-Tesido via the Gassl/Valdaora valley station. Winter sports fans with a wide range of interests will find 120 kilometres of pistes, 32 modern lifts and breathtaking views of the fascinating mountain world of the Dolomites in the Plan de Corones ski area. Whether beginner, expert, freestyler or family - everyone will find what they are looking for along the varied pistes between 973 m and 2,275 m. Thanks to more than 200 snow-making facilities, the ski area has a high degree of snow reliability and is usually open from December to April. The lively après ski scene and the wide range of sports and leisure activities around Plan de Corones ensure a lot of good humour off the piste as well.

The 58 km of blue and 32 km of red slopes in the Plan de Corones ski area are ideal for beginners and families. On the particularly wide pistes, visitors can spread out and learn their first turns in the best possible way. In the lovingly-designed children's lands of the "Croniworld", little snow lovers can learn about winter sports in a playful way. Experienced skiers and snowboarders can head for the 30 kilometres of black pistes in the Plan de Corones ski area. Experienced snow lovers can put their skills to the test on the famous valley runs "Hernegg" and "Sylvester", both around 5 km long. But beware: the "Hernegg" piste covers around 1,300 m and has a gradient of up to 60%. Here, winter sports fans need not only good technique and stamina, but also a good dose of courage. Freestylers can look forward to two modern fun parks with excellent shaped kickers and a wide range of boxes and rails in the Plan de Corones ski area.

With the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass upgrade, snow lovers have the opportunity to explore a total of 1,200 kilometres of pistes and 450 lifts in fifteen ski areas.

By the way: In Tesido, there is a small, sunny ski area - the "Skilift Guggenberg" - with its own ski school, which is ideal for families. There is also illuminated skiing every Friday evening from 19:30 - 22:00.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Monguelfo-Tesido

Gliding over the glistening snow on a starry night - an unforgettable experience. Night skiing under floodlights takes place once a week at the small "Gluggenberg" village lift in Taisten. In the Kronplatz ski area, approx. 20 minutes away, there is also a wide range of floodlit slopes. On various evenings of the week, the "Cianross", "Korer", "Terenten" and "Guggenberg" slopes are opened and illuminated by floodlights. Lovers of tobogganing can also rejoice, as the two pistes "Korer" and "Cianross" can also be used as a night toboggan run.
